1. Do you have any hobbies or interests? [What are they?] 

I have a number of hobbies such as watching movies, gardening, and reading story books. While I enjoy having all of those hobbies, depending on my location, mood, and weather conditions, the most special one to me is “reading storybooks”.

Tôi có một số sở thích như xem phim, làm vườn và đọc truyện. Mặc dù tôi thích có tất cả những sở thích đó, tùy thuộc vào địa điểm, tâm trạng và điều kiện thời tiết, nhưng sở thích đặc biệt nhất đối với tôi là “đọc truyện”.

2. How did you become interested in (whatever hobby/ interest the candidate mentions)?

I became interested in some hobbies in my early high school days. In fact, my school would declare nice “awards” for the best storytellers in order to encourage students like me to take part in the storytelling competition from our favourite storybooks. I became interested in “gardening” rather recently after learning how we could stop the greenhouse effects by planting more trees. As for watching movies, I have been interested in them as for long as I remember. This is entertaining, educational, and one of the most popular hobbies in our country.

Tôi bắt đầu quan tâm đến một số sở thích lúc mới học trung học. Trên thực tế, trường tôi thường tuyên bố những “giải thưởng” hay ho dành cho những người kể chuyện hay nhất để khuyến khích những học sinh như tôi tham gia cuộc thi kể chuyện từ những cuốn truyện yêu thích của chúng tôi. Gần đây tôi bắt đầu quan tâm đến việc “làm vườn” sau khi biết được cách chúng ta có thể ngăn chặn hiệu ứng nhà kính bằng cách trồng thêm cây. Còn đối với việc xem phim, tôi bắt đầu thích thú với nó từ lâu rồi. Đây là sở thích mang tính giải trí, giáo dục và là một trong những sở thích phổ biến nhất ở nước chúng tôi.

3. What is there to do in your free time in (candidate’s hometown/village)?

During my free time, where I live, people can visit the Coffee Museum in the Al Fahidi neighborhood to enjoy some of the best coffee in the world and also learn about the history of coffee as well as the history-related artefacts. Besides, one can also enjoy public sandy beaches during his/her free time.

Trong thời gian rảnh rỗi, nơi tôi sống, mọi người có thể ghé thăm Bảo tàng Cà phê ở khu Al Fahidi để thưởng thức một số loại cà phê ngon nhất thế giới, đồng thời tìm hiểu về lịch sử cà phê cũng như những đồ tạo tác liên quan đến lịch sử. Bên cạnh đó, người ta cũng có thể tận hưởng những bãi biển chung đầy cát trong thời gian rảnh rỗi.

4. How do you usually spend your holidays?

I usually spend my holidays visiting my parents and relatives who are living outside of my city. I also like to take my family to one of my favourite restaurants to enjoy some of my favourite dishes. And finally, sometimes I enjoy sports competitions on TV on holidays. 

Tôi thường dành những ngày nghỉ của mình để thăm bố mẹ và người thân đang sống bên ngoài thành phố của tôi. Tôi cũng thích đưa gia đình đến một trong những nhà hàng yêu thích của tôi để thưởng thức một số món ăn yêu thích. Và cuối cùng, đôi khi tôi thích xem các cuộc thi thể thao trên TV vào những ngày nghỉ.

5. Is there anywhere you would particularly like to visit? [Why?]

Yes, I would like to visit many places in the world, given that I have enough money and time. But one place, which I would really like to visit, is “Niagra Falls” in Canada, and the reason is obvious. I want to visit it because it is a geographical wonder and one of the most famous waterfalls in the world.

Vâng, tôi muốn đi thăm nhiều nơi trên thế giới nếu tôi có đủ tiền và thời gian. Nhưng có một nơi mà tôi thực sự muốn đến thăm là “Thác Niagara” ở Canada, và lý do rất rõ ràng. Tôi muốn đến thăm nó vì nó là một kỳ quan địa lý và là một trong những thác nước nổi tiếng nhất thế giới.
